As energy, Chi is invisible. Still, it acts everywhere and in everything. Each thing and being has Chi. This energy is the lively principle that unites everything that exists. However, the concept of Chi is not a purely Chinese invention. Different countries and cultures have a similar concept, just use different names to call this energy.
The Chinese philosophy believes that if Chi concentrates in one place, a body, or a material object, is created. If Chi disperses, the body dies. Right after the death nothing changes on the material level – the body still exists, but it lacks something – the soul has left it
So, it is the individual Chi of a person that leaves body after the death. At the same time, this individual Chi is a part of universal Chi of the world.
In general, there can be distinguished several major types of Chi:
Human Chi – individual energy of each person.
Home Chi – the energy of a dwelling.
Earth Chi – the energy of the planet and nature.
Heaven Chi – the energy of the space, planets and stars.
Nation Chi – the energy of a nation.
Universal Chi – all the energy of the world.
Chi is one of the basic Feng Shui concepts. It is the energy of life that fills everything in the world. Life of an individual greatly depends on the types of energy that surround him or her. Feng Shui, being based on understanding the qualities of different types of energy, aims at manipulating them in such a way, that they influence the individual in the most positive way.
